FavMap Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy governs the handling of information in the smartphone app "FavMap" (Android package name: com.kaitoishii.favmap2; hereinafter, the "App").
The App is provided and operated by kt Home Page.
1. Information handled by the App
The App may handle the following information in order to provide its features:
- Location data (for showing the current location, calculating the distance to saved places, setting the reference point for place searches, and similar purposes)
- Place information registered by the user (such as place names, addresses, notes, and tags)
- Phone numbers, URLs, and photos optionally registered by the user
- App settings
- Device information, advertising information, app usage information, and similar data related to ad delivery (which may be handled by Google AdMob)
- Usage information such as fixed screen names, interaction events, and counts (which may be handled by Google Analytics for Firebase)
2. Information stored on the device
Place information, notes, tags, phone numbers, URLs, photos, and similar data that users register in the App are generally stored on the user's device.
The App does not provide a feature through which the App provider independently synchronizes or stores this registered data in the cloud.
3. Use of location data
The App may use location data for features such as showing the current location, calculating the distance to saved places, displaying maps, and searching for places.
Users can allow or deny access to location data through the operating system's permission settings. If location access is not allowed, saved place information remains available except for certain features.
4. External transmission during place searches
When a user uses the place-search feature, the search terms and the location used as the search reference point may be sent to the App's search server in order to obtain search results.
The transmitted information is used to return place-search results.
5. Use of Google Maps Platform
The App uses Google Maps Platform to display maps and provide related features.
Google may handle device information, location data, and similar information in connection with the use of Google Maps Platform. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and the terms of use for the relevant services for details about Google's handling of information.
6. Use of Google AdMob
The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Google AdMob may collect or process advertising information, device identifiers, app usage information, diagnostic information, and similar data for ad delivery, ad performance measurement, fraud prevention, service improvement, and related purposes.
The App uses a setting that does not request personalized ads in ad requests. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details about Google's handling of information.
7. Use of Google Analytics for Firebase
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand usage and improve the service.
Aggregated information such as fixed screen names, interaction events, and search-result counts may be transmitted. Search terms, place names, addresses, latitude and longitude, notes, tags, phone numbers, URLs, photos, user IDs, and free-form text are not transmitted as parameters of analytics events defined by the App provider.
Google Analytics for Firebase may collect or process device information, app information, app usage information, and similar data. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details about Google's handling of information.
8. Provision and sharing with third parties
Except where required by law, the App provider does not sell place information, notes, tags, photos, or similar data registered by users in the App to third parties.
However, information may be transmitted to Google Maps Platform, Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, and external services required for the place-search feature to the extent necessary to provide the App's features.
9. Data retention and deletion
Registered data stored on the device is retained until the user deletes the relevant data in the App or it is removed from the device, for example by uninstalling the App.
Data handled by operating-system backup and restore features is subject to the specifications and settings of the relevant operating system and device.
10. Security
When communication with external services is necessary, the App takes care to protect the communication path. The App also seeks to reduce risks such as unauthorized access and data leakage when handling in-app data.
11. Children's privacy
The App is offered on Google Play for users aged 18 and over.
12. Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be revised in response to changes in laws, the service, or external services used by the App. Important changes will be announced on this page or through a similar method.
